Our Technology

How it works.

To engage an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip in clothing and/or accessories, you will need an NFC enabled device, such as a smartphone or tablet, to read the chip.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Turn on ('Wake Up') your mobile device and ensure that NFC is enabled.

  2. Hold the top of your device close to the NFC chip in the clothing. The distance between the device and the chip should be less than 1 cm. On a New York Culture Club garment or accessory, the NFC chip will always be positioned within an inch of the NYCC logo indicator. Examples of logo indicators include:

  3. Follow the prompts on your device to access the information provided by the NFC chip. This may include opening a specific app or following a link to a webpage.

  4. If the NFC chip is not readable, make sure that the device is positioned correctly and that the chip is not obstructed by any material, specifically metal.

It's important to note that the information stored on an NFC chip in clothing & accessories can vary widely. It could be used to provide product information, unlock exclusive content, or even make a payment. The specific use case will depend on the chip's intended purpose.

Please see below for some of the ways that New York Culture Club uses NFC chips in concert with blockchain technology to ensure that we are enhancing your brand experience while making you more efficient and secure in the process.

Authentication

Our NFC technology is designed to provide AES-128 cryptographic operation, prompting a Secure Unique NFC (SUN) authentication upon each read-out by an NFC enabled mobile device as well as sensitive data protection with crypto-secure access permissions.

This enables advanced product and content protection, plus secured and unique user experiences served in real-time.
